New York
At least since the tragedy of September 11th 2001 everybody around the world knows New York City and the twin towers of the World Trade Center. However, there is also a state called New York, which was originally called New Amsterdam by the first settlers who came from the Netherlands. The population of 15 million residence is mainly concentrated in the south - in the metropolis of New York. The state borders to Canada in the north where millions of people each year watch the waters fall down the Niagara falls.
