Washington, District of Columbia
The capital of the United States of America, Washington, District of Columbia, is formally and legally not considered one of the states of the union. Although all three branches of the government are located in the capital together with nearly every nations' embassy as well as the White House, the District of Columbia has only limited voting rights within the congress and senate and has (as of now) no senator represented. I was visiting the nations capitol during a conference in August 2009 and was stunned by the monuments, museums, and history that took place here. Information about Washington, D.C.:
